Nicole Abiouness understands balance as a way of life. She's
been crafting tiny lots of beautiful wines under this, her own label, since
1999, and with each vintage she has breathed more life and style into her
brand. Yes, she is a gifted yoga teacher as well as a winemaker, so if you need
to find strength and calm in your life, you'd be right to reach for a glass of
Abiouness. I cannot emphasize how
important it is to us when a winemaker of such integrity and such a beautiful
spirit also makes wine this delicious. This is exactly the kind of project
that, if you care about who makes your juice, you should support. Nicole is one
of the good ones. She took her culinary degree straight to the production
cellars at Chappellet and then to John Kongsgaard over at Luna Vineyards back
many moons ago, and with her own brand, brings her artistic chops and sky high
standards into play with her wines. New to us is her Grenache!
The grapes for this wine come from a beautiful and organically farmed vineyard in the heart of Dry Creek Valley. The wine is bright ruby in color with a nose full of fresh
red raspberries, cherry cordials, Gran Marnier and a hint of spice. Elegant and
smooth with a light tannin structure and just the right amount of acid. A delicate
wine that is balanced from start to finish. Drink now- why wait?!
